Allen Kay, marketing consultant to TeachersCount
Allen is CEO of Korey Kay & Partners advertising and one of the most awarded Creative Directors in advertising. The agency gained its reputation by putting companies on the map. Virgin Atlantic Airways, Comedy Central and Celebrity Cruises are among them. Allen is a Graduate Board Member of the AdCouncil and AAAA (American Association of Advertising Agencies), where, when Chairman of their New York Board of Governors, he created the annual "Unthinkable Ideas" new media conference. Allen was a founding member of America's Promise—Colin Powell's alliance for youth, spent eleven years on the steering committee of ABNY (Association for a Better New York), is a Director of YES, Inc. (Youth Education through Sports), and is a member of the Advisory Board of PENCIL, an organization that works to improve New York City's public schools. Allen also served for many years as a consultant to the Marketing Board of the New York Philharmonic. The "Write Your Own Ticket" program was one of his many contributions.

November 5th Benefit, presented by Zac Posen, Samsung, and the Royalton
TeachersCount was the beneficiary of a glamorous event, presented by Zac Posen, Samsung, and the Royalton, on November 5th in New York City. As part of the festivities, Samsung made a donation to TeachersCount. In addition to dancing, cocktails, and hors d'ouerves, the party also featured a silent auction, the proceeds of which went to TeachersCount

Zac Posen/DHL Tote for Teachers Launch Party
Tote for Teachers—the bag designed by Zac Posen and commissioned by DHL to raise funds for TeachersCount—had its official launch on the rooftop of the Bryant Park Grill in New York City on September 6, 2007, during Fashion Week. In attendance were designer Zac Posen, the CEO of DHL, and the Executive Director of TeachersCount.

Tote for Teachers
Fashion designer Zac Posen and global delivery network DHL have teamed up to present “Tote for Teachers,” a limited-edition fine Italian leather handbag, all proceeds of which will benefit TeachersCount. 2007 NEA Annual Meeting
TeachersCount staffed an exhibition booth at the NEA Annual Meeting, which took place in Philadelphia, June 30-July 5.

The Today Show—Teacher Appreciation Week, 2007
On Tuesday, May 8, which was National Teacher Day, representatives from TeachersCount and Jones New York In The Classroom gathered in the Times Square location where the outside portions of NBC's The Today Show are produced. Wearing Jones New York In The Classroom t-shirts and holding signs featuring PSAs from the "Behind Every Famous Person Is a Fabulous Teacher" Campaign, the representatives appeared on the show when Al Roker, who appears in one of the PSAs, came over and spoke to them. They were also visible in other portions of the show in the background. On Thursday, May 10, The Today Show ran a more specific segment honoring teachers.

Dayna Devon on CNN Local Edition, L.A.
Extra’s Dayna Devon has partnered with TeachersCount to bring visibility to the organization and its cause. Descended from two educators, Ms. Devon shared her passion for the teaching profession in an interview on CNN Local Edition in Southern California as part of a series the show does on celebrities and their causes. In her interview, Ms. Devon discussed the need for the public to have more appreciation and respect for teachers. The segment aired approximately 25 times over a one-week period throughout Southern California in early May, 2007.

2007 NYSUT Representative Assembly
TeachersCount attended the 2007 NYSUT Representative as an exhibitor in Washington, DC, April 25-27. There, teachers had the opportunity to learn more about TeachersCount, meet a staff member, pick up some freebies, and win prizes.

Focus Groups
In late March, 2007, TeachersCount conducted a series of focus groups with teachers in Durham, NC, Phoenix, AZ, and Los Angeles, CA. The feedback from the sessions is being used to better tailor the programs and website of TeachersCount to the needs of teachers.

2007 Pro Bowl Pre-Game Show
On February 10, TeachersCount participated in the pre-game show at the AFC-NFC Pro Bowl in Honolulu, Hawaii, by helping to honor Charlotte Gagliardi, the NFL Teacher of the Year. In addition to receiving this distinction from the NFL, Ms. Gagliardi was photographed with Will Shields, the Kansas City Chiefs offensive lineman who nominated her, for an ad in the "Behind Every Famous Person Is a Fabulous Teacher" Campaign. At the Pro Bowl pre-game show, Diana Burroughs, the Executive Director of TeachersCount, joined Ms. Gagliardi and Mr. Shields on the field as her award was announced and the pair were presented as the newest faces in the TeachersCount Campaign. As part of the announcement, Time Inc., which has donated millions of dollars worth of ad space, and Jones New York In The Classroom, which underwrites the production costs of the ads, were recognized as the campaign's sponsors. The ad is scheduled to run in the February 26 issue of of Sports Illustrated.

New Year's Eve 2007 at The Grand
TeachersCount was thrilled to ring in the New Year as a beneficiary of an exciting celebration and fundraiser in New York City. A portion of the funds raised at New Year’s Eve 2007 at The Grand, hosted by actor Sean William Scott, socialite Amanda Hearst, and fashion designer Charlotte Ronson, were donated to TeachersCount.
